Network Engineer

Our client, operating within the technology sector, is presently seeking a proficient Network Engineer to join their team in Hereford on a contract basis. This role irequires full-time onsite presence with potential travel to other UK locations. Sensitive information is involved, hence careful handling is essential. The position is open until the end of the financial year, and is classified as Inside IR35.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, implementing, supporting and managing complex campus area networks (CAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
  • Configuring and administrating IP cryptography solutions.
  • Utilising network logging and analysis tools like PRTG, Solar Winds, or Splunk for maintaining network health and performance.
  • Creating reports, alerts, and dashboards using Splunk or Elastic for enhanced network support.
  • Collaborating with military management and stakeholders at all levels internally and externally to ensure efficient network operations.
  • Supporting production networks and ensuring high availability and reliability.


Job Requirements:

  • Holding a CCNP Enterprise certification.
  • Experience in supporting complex campus area networks (CAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
  • Possession of a live and active DV clearance (UK Eyes Only, Sole UK Nationals).
  • Technical competency in network technologies and Linux OS.
  • Experience with network logging and analysis tools such as PRTG, Solar Winds, or Splunk.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team under military management.
