Your new companyYou will be working for a Public Sector organisation who make a real difference in the local community of that they operate and the services they procure.Your new roleThe role holder will be responsible for a proactive business partner approach; providing technical expertise to shape and influence decisions with senior stakeholders across the organisation. You will lead the development and implementation of complex supply chain strategies, transforming organisational spend with third parties across high-profile categories such as Health & Social Care and Construction to deliver ongoing value for money. The role holder will have responsibility for driving out sustainable savings and progressing the sustainability agenda.
- Responsible for providing a proactive procurement approach, providing direction and expert advice on procurement and supplier management matters in the areas of responsibility
- Establish, plan and implement 'end to end' category strategies using expert knowledge, research, data and market insights to determine priorities and inform decision-making to ensure security of supply, financial savings and sustainability from supply chain.
- Engage with existing and potential supplier market to identify market trends, potential routes to market and opportunities to deliver improved outcomes, including financial and service delivery improvements.
- Public Sector tendering activity "end to end"
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant professional qualification linked to procurement i.e. MCIPS
- Experience working at a senior level within a procurement, supply chain or commercial environment
- Experience of leading and delivering complex procurement projects and contract negotiations in area relevant to the specific post
- Hold relevant Category working knowledge across Health & Social Care / Construction
- Ideally, sound understanding of JCT and NEC suite of contracts.
- Have experience with line management of direct reports. This role will lead 6 Procurement Officers.
- PCR15 and PA23 are essential for this role.
