We are proud to be working with this Ofsted Outstanding residential childcare provider who currently have an exciting opportunity for a number of Residential Childrens Workers and Senior Support Workersto join their growing team in Herne Bay.

We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic individuals who will be responsible for providing the highest possible quality of care to assist the looked after children in reaching their fullest potential. There are currently day and waking nights positions available.

This role focuses on supporting children with learning disabilities and a degree of challenging behaviour so any previous experience related to this will be beneficial. Our client is also happy to consider candidates with transferable skills as full comprehensive training will be provided to all successful applicants.

Location: Herne Bay

Contract: Full time, permanent

Salary: £28,200 (inclusive of 6 sleeps per month)

Key responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the basic care of children assisting and ensuring good personal care, health care, education and recreational activities

  • Proactively support the young persons care plan

  • Transport/support young people to and from school, health appointments etc.

  • Ensure a regular log and record of events is maintained including night observation/medication checklist

  • Prepare and write reports in accordance with the childs needs and organisational requirements

  • Ensure professional standards in line with individual and team performance plans

Requirements:

  • Genuine commitment to welfare of looked after children

  • Previous experience of working with learning disabilities and challenging behavior is desirable

  • Flexibility to work long shifts and sleep ins

  • Right to Work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
