Senior Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire/Enfield/Harlow - Commutable from surrounding areas
Salary: Circa £50,000 | Site-Based Role
An established engineering company specialising in high-precision aerospace systems is seeking a Senior Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace projects in a fast-paced and technically challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead the design and development of complex aerospace components and assemblies.
·Utilise SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software) for high-precision mechanical design.
·Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on intricate assemblies.
·Produce detailed technical reports, including structural substantiation reports.
·Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
·Present technical and regulatory information to internal and external stakeholders.
·Mentor and support junior engineers within the department.
Skills & Experience Required:
·Strong knowledge of aerospace design, manufacturing, and regulatory processes.
·Expertise in structural analysis and problem-solving.
·Ability to work to deadlines with high levels of self-motivation.
·Excellent organisation, time management, and communication skills.
Qualifications:
·Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering (Bachelor's/Master's level) OR Chartered Engineer status (IMechE or equivalent).
·Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant aerospace design role.
