Mechanically bias QA / QC required on a permanent basis in the Hertfordshire area, this is to work on a large industrial project.

We are seeking a Mechanically Biased QA/QC professional. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical aspects of projects meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves working closely with engineering, production, and project teams to maintain high-quality outputs and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality control and assurance processes for mechanical systems and components.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Identify and resolve quality-related issues, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are taken.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including ISO 9001 and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality reports.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive best practices in quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a QA/QC role with a strong mechanical background.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, ASME, API, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with teams and stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering / plumbing & pipefitting, Quality Management, or a related field.
