SEND Teaching Assistant in a Private Prep School in Herford

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans for a Year 5 student with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ASD, using differentiated instruction and multisensory approaches.
  • Provide a structured, predictable environment with visual schedules and clear instructions to support focus and reduce anxiety.
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, and social skills development using hands-on materials, visual aids, and communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals (special education, speech therapy, etc.) to assess progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Offer emotional support, sensory breaks, and strategies for developing self-regulation, independence, and self-advocacy skills.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ASD, and a strong understanding of individualized education strategies.
  • Ability to create a structured, supportive environment and use multisensory approaches to address diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
