Estimator - Architectural Steel
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Location: Hertford
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established company specialising in architectural metalwork. This is a key role within the business, where you will be responsible for managing the pricing and quoting process for all incoming work. You will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with the team while taking full ownership of your own projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for architectural metalwork projects.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to determine costs.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain material and labour costs.
- Prepare and submit formal quotations in a timely manner.
- Ensure estimates align with project requirements, budgets, and timelines.
- Collaborate with the wider team to discuss project feasibility and value engineering options.
- Monitor and review costings throughout the project lifecycle to ensure profitability.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing structures.
Requirements:
- A minimum of five experience as an Estimator within the architectural metalwork industry.
- A strong understanding of metalwork fabrication, materials, and processes.
- Proven ability to manage pricing and quotations independently.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in cost estimation.
