Eventus Recruitment Group are seeking a Medical Negligence Solicitor to join this Sunday Times Best Places to Work in 2024 law firm in their Hertford office. This a permanent job role and is available on a hybrid basis after a successful probation. Role Responsibilities

Working within a highly successful two Partner team you will be taking responsibility for a caseload of high value, multitrack, medical negligence cases involving life changing injuries.

The day-to-day job duties within this role include:

  • Compiling evidence in support of a claim
  • Evaluating the merits of a claim
  • Identifying the legal and medical issues
  • Calculating appropriate damages
  • Instructing and liaising with medical experts
  • Instructing and liaising with Counsel
  • Communicating and negotiating with Defendant Solicitors
  • Communicating with clients
  • Providing guidance and support to junior fee earners
  • Identifying, building, and nurturing contacts to promote development of the work type
  • Leading structured BD initiatives to generate referrals and build connections

Person Specification

To be successful in your application for this Medical Negligence role you will be 10 years + PQE gained within good quality Medical Negligence work.

In addition, you will possess the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
