Are you a newly qualified Solicitor eager to develop your career in a dynamic and specialist area of law? We are seeking a motivated Solicitor to join our client’s expert team, focusing on forfeiture claims related to unpaid ground rent, service charges, and assured shorthold tenancies (AST). About the Role

As a Solicitor, you will:

  • Manage a varied caseload of forfeiture claims, including unpaid ground rent, service charges, and breaches of AST agreements.
  • Provide practical, solution-focused legal advice on forfeiture proceedings and associated risks.
  • Draft and issue formal legal documents, including notices and court applications.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and attend hearings as required.
  • Liaise with landlords, property managers, and other third parties to ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Stay current with legislation and case law developments, particularly regarding ground rent, service charges, and leasehold law.
  • Collaborate with the wider legal team and support colleagues on complex cases.

Key Requirements

To succeed as a Solicitor, you should have:

  • A qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales, with 0-3 years Post-Qualified Experience (PQE).
  • Experience managing forfeiture claims, including those involving unpaid ground rent, service charges, and AST disputes.
  • Knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002, and related case law.
  • Strong drafting skills and the ability to produce high-quality legal documentation.
  • Advocacy skills to represent clients effectively in court.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • The ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle a diverse caseload.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with complex service charge disputes and leasehold enfranchisement.
  • Previous experience in a property litigation or real estate law team.
