Job Title: Operations Manager Location: Hertford Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 per year Job Type: Maternity Cover between 9 to 12 months Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm with an hour for lunch (35 hours per week) Our client, who are a market leader in their industry, are seeking a proactive and motivated Operations Manager to join their dedicated team. This role has become available due to business growth and maternity leave. As Operations Manager, you'll take the lead in managing the company's logistics operations while ensuring exceptional customer service. You'll oversee a small team, coordinate daily activities, and communicate effectively with logistics suppliers and customers. Key Responsibilities: ·Lead and manage a small team, prioritising daily tasks to meet deadlines and deliver excellent service. ·Plan and schedule collections and deliveries in line with the yearly delivery plan, resolving day-to-day and weekly challenges as they arise. ·Address and resolve reactive logistics issues, such as port-rejected loads, delivery delays, and rescheduling. ·Manage customer and logistics queries, complaints, and disputes to ensure a high standard of service. ·Track supplier performance, providing weekly reports and performance reviews. ·Price new and existing supply routes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency. ·Respond to incoming enquiries promptly and professionally. Skills and Requirements: ·Proven experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or direct logistics management. ·Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. ·Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. ·A self-motivated and proactive approach with a 'can-do' attitude. ·The ability to build relationships and manage customer expectations effectively. ·Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
