This client seeks an experienced Buyer with extensive knowledge gained in a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, permanent post working Monday to Friday, offering an annual salary up to £32,000 plus a range of highly attractive employee benefits. Working within the precision engineering sector requires previous experience in global supply chain and customer demand planning, with an organised approach, plus exceptional communication skills.
Job Description: Reporting to the Plant Manager, this client seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer, someone who can evidence purchasing and stock control, with the ability to execute and evaluate customer orders in line with manufacturing requirements. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing of materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods to support the manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
- Monitor inventory and stock levels, raising orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing and engineering teams to understand material requirements.
- Track and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues that arise.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.
- Stay updated on market trends and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Working with ERP systems for the ordering and movement of stock
Qualifications:
- Ideally qualified to CIPS level of similar
- Proven experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Management of the supply chain
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
