We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive secondary school in Hertford. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting young people, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a positive and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional and pastoral support to students across the school.
• Act as a point of contact for students experiencing personal, social, or emotional challenges.
• Work with students and staff to ensure positive behavior and school engagement.
• Support attendance initiatives and work closely with students and families to improve attendance where needed.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of interventions that promote well-being and mental health.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to provide holistic support to students.

• Experience working with young people in a pastoral, educational, or youth work capacity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach.
• The ability to manage sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all students.
