Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in Hertfordshire is looking to recruit a Housing Options Support Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.
This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.
We are looking for a Housing Options Support Officer to assist in delivering housing advice, homelessness prevention, and housing solutions. This role will support individuals and families facing housing challenges while ensuring compliance with homelessness legislation and local authority policies. The successful candidate will work closely with the Housing Options team, supporting casework, managing applications, and liaising with external partners to secure suitable housing solutions.Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Assist in providing tailored housing advice to clients facing homelessness or housing insecurity.
- Support the assessment and processing of homelessness applications, ensuring compliance with Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Help manage placements into temporary accommodation, liaising with landlords and support services.
- Work with housing providers, social services, and welfare teams to deliver effective housing solutions.
- Maintain accurate records using Jigsaw, Locata, Northgate, or other housing systems.
- Engage with landlords to prevent evictions and negotiate tenancy sustainment options.
- Assist Housing Options Officers in preparing case reports, responding to inquiries, and coordinating appointments.
