Junior Java Developer - Leading Retail Software Provider
Salary: £40-60,000
Location: Hertford office, 5 days a week (must be within 1 hour of Hertford)
We are thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership with the UK's premier retail software provider. With over a decade of experience, they have established themselves as a market leader, forming partnerships with renowned brands such as Klarna, Harrods, Sports Direct, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Due to their ongoing success, they are expanding their Hertfordshire-based team and seeking Junior Java Developers with 1-3 years of experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Java Developer early in their career, looking for an exciting challenge to grow professionally and personally.
Requirements for Junior Java Developer:
- BSc in Computer Science from a Russell Group University
- 1-3 years of commercial experience with Java and web application development
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices
- Experience with cloud hosting (e.g., AWS)
- Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle)
- Understanding of XML or JSON
- Experience with at least one J2EE container (e.g., Tomcat)
- Bonus: Frontend experience (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
You will be working in a modern, agile, and supportive office environment five days a week, alongside a talented team of engineers, including former Google engineers.
As a Junior Java Developer, you will:
- Develop REST and SOAP web services
- Collaborate with technical architects and development managers
- Contribute to testing, configuration, and release processes
- Participate in design and implementation decisions
- Continuously learn new technologies
