Spirehouse, a specialist Social Housing recruitment firm, are currently seeking an interim Governance Manager to provide support to a Social Housing provider in York.
The Governance Manager role is a temporary position for up to 6 months and would be a perfect role for someone who is capable of turning the wheel of a well-oiled machine, can start soon and see through the next two quarters of 2025.
Prior experience in governance, social housing regulation, minute taking and diary management would be highly welcomed.
The Governance Manager post will cover many responsibilities, though these aren’t exhaustive:
- Manage a two-person governance team that support the Boards and sub-committees
- Provide advice and guidance on governance insights
- Take ownership of the governance process during a time of recruitment
- Coordinate Board and sub-committee meetings, supporting with any additional requirements to secure attendance and ease of access
- Provide advice to stakeholders
- Take minutes
- Utilise legislative knowledge to advise and guide on current changes as they relate to the Regulator of Social Housing and Companies House
To secure the Governance Manager post, the business is seeking the below:
- Knowledge of governance arrangements and up-to-date recommendations on best practice
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to take on a temporary position swiftly and within the values of the organisation
