Summary
Appoint Healthcare is proud to partner with a leading national provider of health and social care services for individuals with neurological and mental health needs, as well as learning disabilities. We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our dedicated team at our Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York.

The service is a specialist Level 2 purpose-built neurorehabilitation facility, rated as "Good" by the Care Quality Commission. We support up to 26 patients with acquired brain injuries, traumatic brain injuries, severe neurological conditions, complex strokes, and spinal cord injuries.


Role Overview
As a Clinical Psychologist on our team, you will play a crucial role in providing psychological assessment, intervention, and support to our residents. Your expertise will be central to the holistic care we provide, ensuring that each individual receives personalised support that meets their unique needs.


Work Hours/Flexible working
This role offers 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility in scheduling. We value work-life balance and are open to discussing adjustments to accommodate your personal and professional needs wherever possible.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and protection of individuals' rights.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, providing clinical psychology input.
  • Engage in relevant research and offer advice to other professionals as appropriate.
  • Conduct assessments and clinical formulations of patients' behavioural and treatment needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based individual and group treatment programs to address and mitigate difficulties.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs.
  • Direct and support others in carrying out evidence-based clinical psychology interventions.
  • Take personal responsibility for adhering to security procedures and continuously assess and manage risks.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, visitors, and carers.

Requirements

  • BPS Registration
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of neuropsychological assessment and treatment for adults with complex acquired neurological disorders, particularly those with cognitive, psychological, and emotional impairments affecting their ability to function independently in daily life. Extensive experience in delivering individual therapy and supporting non-psychology team members in working with individuals with acquired brain injuries is essential, alongside strong team and leadership skills.
