We are working with an established Process Machines Manufacturer company based inEast Yorkshire, UK.They are recruiting for aMechanical Design Engineerto join their team.

In return for a salary in the region 32.000 - 38.000along with excellent employment benefits

Under the general direction of the Design Manager, the Designer is responsible for creating accurate, well-presented 2D drawings in accordance with established standards and conventions. These will include layouts, Plant PFDs, fabrication drawings and details working in either a metric or imperial workspace.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Create 2D drawings to a high standard of accuracy and presentation following established standards and conventions.
  • Work in either metric or imperial workspace creating drawings in either first or third angle projection.
  • Update existing or create new vessel assembly, fabrication and detail drawings.
  • Create plant layout drawings under the guidance of Level II or Level III Designer.
  • Perform calculations to establish weights and volumes of drawn items.
  • Become proficient in the use of Autodesk Plant P & I D software.
  • Gain understanding of 3D modelling methods in AutoCAD and Plant software.
  • Use MS Office software to create equipment lists and drawing-linked Excel tables.
  • Follow Design Office admin procedures.
  • Perform other design and related duties as required and assigned.
  • Become familiar with group equipment using internal learning resources

Requirements:

  • Educated to minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering (design bias)
  • Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD 2D and 3D
  • Proficient in the following skills:
    • Use of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel (Basic Level) and File Explorer
    • Process Flow Diagram creation from marked up templates
    • Layout draughting and design
    • Vessel and machine draughting and design
    • Fabrication and detail draughting and design
  • Self-organise when working across multiple projects, under direction from Level II or III Designer
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of spoken and written English
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and vendors.
  • Possess high integrity and ethics.
  • Understand the importance of IP protection and follow any associated instructions appropriately.
