Process Control Engineer to join a globally renowned petrochemical manufacturing company based in Hull which is one of the world's leading producers across Europe. As a Process Control Engineer you will be the assigned engineer overseeing every facet of process automation related to a particular asset on site. Responsibilities encompass the upkeep and enhancement of process automation methodologies, encompassing, but not restricted to safety instrumented systems (SIS), distributed control system (DCS) hardware strategies, procedures, standards, and documentation.

Process Control Engineer Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining regulatory controls to ensure robust and stable control of plant operations.
  • Employing traditional advanced control design implementing, and maintaining to enhance plant profitability and optimise asset utilisation.
  • Continuously enhancing plant operations, encompassing alarm management and utilising associated applications.
  • Utilising control modelling and data analysis to complement strategies and extract valuable insights from extensive data volumes.
  • Performing software installation and maintenance to guarantee the up-to-date and reliable operation of control applications.
  • Offer specialised engineering assistance for SIS systems throughout their life cycle, encompassing design, development, modification, commissioning, and ensuring adherence to industry and company standards.
  • Take on the responsibility of identifying, assessing, and executing opportunities to enhance safety, reliability, and operability performance.
  • Support SIL reviews and MAF development for the manufacturing team.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the site's SIS logic solvers to the required standard.


To be considered for this Process Control Engineer position, you must exhibit significant expertise in DCS/SIS engineering, particularly with Honeywell TPS/Experion system and FSC/SM safety systems. This experience should be acquired through working on a refinery/chemical manufacturing site.
