Buyer - Civil Engineering - Hull
Our client is one of the region's leading construction and civil engineering contractors operating throughout Yorkshire and the midland from their regional office based in Humberside.
Due to a period of sustained growth, we are recruiting for a new member of the commercial team, leading the buying function of the business.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Placing orders for plant and materials
- Management of and negotiation with the supply chain
- Working alongside the commercial department with the preparation of tenders
- Manage the supplier database and maintain supplier relationships
- Monitor lead times for the supply of plant and materials
- Accurately use the purchase order system to ensure correct allocation of site spend
- Management and mentoring of others within the team
About You
- Demonstrable experience of working within / leading a Purchasing Team in Civil Engineering or a Building Contracting Environments
- Excellent IT Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with Senior Management, Site and Supply Chain
