Senior Mechanical Design Engineer 

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key member of the mechanical team, responsible for the design and development of electric motor and drive system components. You will work on a variety of projects, focusing on CAD design, material selection, technical drawings, and simulation analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components for electric motors and drive systems.
  • Create 3D CAD models and detailed technical drawings with correct tolerances and GD&T.
  • Conduct material selection, FEA design studies, and root cause analysis.
  • Support motor simulations and testing to validate designs.
  • Ensure compliance with UKCA, CE, and international standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvements and innovation in product design.
  • Travel overseas as required to support projects.

What You'll Need:

  • A BEng/BSc or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in traction motor design for automotive/off-road applications.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS Maxwell, and FEA analysis.
  • Understanding of mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of compliance and certification processes for UK and international standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
  • A full driving license and willingness to travel internationally when needed.
