Commercial Executive

Jackson Hogg is looking to recruit a Commercial Executive for a manufacturing business based in Hexham.

Objective of the Commercial Executive

To work at a senior level within the Commercial team supporting the Manager with the daily operations of the team as well as improvement projects by holding main responsibility for pricing and product data topics, including wood certification within the UK and IE market for all customers and ensuring compliance and up-to-date knowledge of relevant pricing rules and guidelines alongside colleagues.

Duties/Responsibilities of the Commercial Executive

  • To work strategically with various local and European colleagues in multiple departments to ensure orderly, efficient and up to date information on relevant tasks; exploring improvement possibilities within the systems.
  • To work strategically to support Company success and financial development, as well as development of automated pricing topics.
  • To support the development of team members through coaching and training; in addition to providing on-demand support, expertise and training within the areas of pricing and product data to relevant colleagues, ensuring the correct handling in the corresponding systems.
  • To develop both professionally and personally by completing tasks and taking on various responsibilities within the team; ensuring the targets and KPIs of the team are met.
  • To hold main responsibility for pricing topics across all customer divisions within UK and IE market.
  • To work with the External sales and Customer Service teams in ensuring complete maintenance and input of customer pricing and directly related documentation in the system, as well as externally throughout the team in compliance with group guidelines.
  • To act as the main contact person for market specific topics relating to pricing and product data.
  • To hold main responsibility for wood certification sales focused topics (FSC/PEFC) working alongside the relevant departments, particularly Wood Purchasing Due Diligence Experts in assuring compliance and supporting our customers with regards to UKTR/UKDR.
  • To support with definition of product range modules for UK and IE markets together with the EDP, PM and Sales Management teams.
  • Testing and implementation of SAP based pricing logics and attributes into local system.
  • Ensuring accuracy of electronic product data exports and price lists (incl. PIM data) for completeness and accuracy before publication.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in the management of price and product data, including claimback pricing management.
  • To work strategically alongside the sales teams to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
  • To ensure compliance and up-to-date knowledge of local and Group pricing rules in conjunction with financial and taxation teams.
  • To organise creation of price lists using standardised software and implementing this into the UK and IE markets.

Skills and Competencies Required

  • Intermediate standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience in a job related role preferred.
  • A 2.1 degree in a Business, Commercial or Marketing discipline preferred but not essential.
  • Must be well organised, efficient, personable and have a good, confident telephone manner.
  • Full UK driving licence.
