Accounts Assistant

Based: Heywood (flexible working hours, 1 day WFH)

Salary: up to £30k dependent on experience + bonus + great benefits including enhanced pension, AAT study support (if required)

I am working with a fantastic business based in Heywood looking to add an additional member to their finance team due to growth. The business are an SME sitting as part of a wider group and can offer excellent exposure and responsibility

Having placed the Finance Director & Management Accountant, we know them well - they have an excellent culture and chance for someone to join a really excellent team and business

Role:

  • Assisting Management Accountant with month end tasks as required
  • Bank reconciliations, processing bank payments in various currencies
  • Assisting with any projects within finance and any ad hoc requests from the FD
  • Ownership of transactional duties including credit control and payroll processes
  • Submitting payroll to payroll company including all reporting and consolidation of data across pay, bonus, shift patterns
  • Credit control duties engaging with customers to manage accounts receivable ledger
  • Assisting with cashflow reporting
  • Liaising with members of the wider business to resolve discrepancies in any areas of finance
  • Matching unallocated cash, maintaining clean debtors ledger and posting debit notes
  • Sales ledger reporting, reviewing customer credit limits

Experience:

  • You must have AT LEAST 2 years experience in a finance role
  • Either studying AAT L2/L3 OR experienced with no AAT
  • Able to use initiative and communicate effectively with all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot issues and resolve
  • A team player who is keen to help with duties outside of your job spec when required
