Zachary Daniels are excited to be continuing our partnership with a retail client who are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organised Stock Controller to join the warehouse team in Heywood. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing inventory levels, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring efficient stock movement across the warehouse. The Stock Controller will be responsible for performing regular cycle counts, stock audits, and resolving inventory discrepancies. This is a hands-on role that requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring stock records are consistently updated. Process purchase orders and track orders to investigate and resolve any issues or discrepancies.

  • Stock Audits & Cycle Counts:Perform regular physical counts of inventory, reconciling actual stock levels with system-generated reports. Ensure periodic cycle counts and periodic inventory checks (PI) are conducted as per company procedures.

  • Stock Movement & Records:Ensure that all stock movements (inbound and outbound) are accurately recorded in the inventory management system, and ensure stock levels are maintained at appropriate levels to meet operational needs.

  • Stock Replenishment & Forecasting:Collaborate with other departments, including sales and purchasing, to forecast demand, manage stock levels, and prevent stockouts or excess inventory.

  • Reporting & Discrepancy Resolution:Regularly generate reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and any issues affecting stock accuracy. Proactively resolve any discrepancies in inventory counts or records.

  • Warehouse Coordination:Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure smooth and efficient order fulfillment processes. Assist in coordinating stock movements, ensuring products are available for order dispatch when required.

  • Health & Safety Compliance:Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the warehouse, particularly when handling inventory. Promote safe practices and maintain a clean and organized stockroom.

Experience:

Proven experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Controller, or in a similar inventory management role within a warehouse or distribution environment.

Software Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and software, with experience using Peoplevox (or similar systems) being highly desirable.
