Rochdale Council is seeking an Administrator for their Environmental Management Service at the Heywood Office. This role is crucial for providing a wide range of business and technical support functions, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery in line with Council policies and procedures.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Serve as the main customer contact at Green Lane Reception, both in person and by telephone.
  • Undertake various business/technical support functions including data input and retrieval, managing environmental management records, and processing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assist in the procurement of goods and services, including ordering stationery and maintaining data quality for all records.
  • Prepare and collate information for banking and payments, and assist with data collection for Service Key Performance Indicators.
  • Provide technical assistance, information, and guidance on issues related to the service.
  • Use ICT systems such as Word and Excel to complete duties, prepare routine correspondence, and maintain up-to-date service information.
  • Monitor office consumables, manage inventories, process orders and invoices, and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Assist with the preparation of Sundry Debtors Accounts and the reconciliation of cash income.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a public sector environment.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in handling confidential and sensitive information.
