Mechanical Design Engineer required to join a well-established Manufacturing company that specialise in manufacturing machinery. The successful candidate will have previous experience using Solidworks and AutoCAD or similar 3D software.
Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview
- Creating a wide variety of designs for machinery products.
- Design & build components to customer specifications.
- Create final assembly, machining drawings and modifying & improving existing designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Ensuring designs are safe to build as well as cost effective
- Provide technical support to the shopfloor and site installation teams as and when required.
- Run your own project with minimum supervision.
- Follow all set drawing office procedure
- Generate part list/BOM's
- Ensure all designs & part lists are released in timely manner to an agreed timescale
- Liaise with customers, suppliers & internal departments to ensure the information is free and flowing.
Mechanical Design Engineer Job Requirements
- Experience using Solidworks and AutoCAD or similar 3D software
- Must be able to read and understand 2D drawings
- Knowledge of machinery design would be ideal
- Experience of managing projects from initial concept to completion
- Ability to work under pressure & to prioritize own workload
- Strong minded, Self-motivated & Attention to Detail
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering or other related qualifications equivalent or higher
- Hydraulics, Pneumatics and any Electrical knowledge would be advantageous
Mechanical Design Engineer Salary & Benefits
- Full time - Permanent position
- Monday to Friday - 08:00am - 16:30 (early finish on Friday)
- Salary - 35,000 - 45,000 (DOE)
