Science Technician Vacancy - Secondary School in Heywood (Rochdale)
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Science Technician to join our secondary school in Heywood, Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and a commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of science lessons.
- Position: Science Technician
- Location: Heywood, Rochdale
- Hours: Monday to Friday
- Salary: Up to £110 per day
- Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, organize, and maintain equipment and materials for science lessons
- Support science teachers during practical sessions and experiments
- Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, including compliance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
- Maintain and clean laboratory spaces, ensuring they meet safety standards
- Assist with stock management, including ordering and organizing resources
- Support students during practical lessons, providing guidance when needed
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working as a Science Technician, preferably in a secondary school setting
- Full understanding and practical application of COSHH regulations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
