We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrician to join our team and work on a water treatment plant for 2 months

Forklift driver Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £26per hour (Umbrella CIS) - equivalent to £17 per hour PAYE direct
  • 9 hours work days

Electrician the role:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, including pumps, motors, transformers, control panels, and lighting systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure efficient treatment plant operation.
  • Install new electrical systems and upgrade existing systems, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to facilitate the installation process.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults promptly, minimising downtime.
  • Work with high and low-voltage equipment, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Ensure all electrical work adheres to local and national electrical codes (such as BS 7671 in the UK).
  • Follow safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor electrical systems through automated systems or manually and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers, plant operators, and other personnel to ensure the seamless operation of the plant.
  • Provide electrical expertise in multidisciplinary projects.

Electrician requirements:

  • Qualified as a certified electrician (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3).
  • Prior experience working with industrial electrical systems, ideally in a water treatment or industrial setting.
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and automated controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair electrical issues quickly.
  • Ability to work with precision, particularly with high-voltage systems and critical equipment.
  • Able to work in challenging environments, such as confined spaces or high structures.
