Location - Chapel-en-le-Frith
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrician to join our team and work on a water treatment plant for 2 months
Forklift driver Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £28per hour CIS) - equivalent to £22 per hour PAYE direct
- 9 hours work days

Electrician the role:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, including pumps, motors, transformers, control panels, and lighting systems. Must be competent with Glanding and Terminating and also reading schematic / termination diagrams.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure efficient treatment plant operation.
- Install new electrical systems and upgrade existing systems, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to facilitate the installation process.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults promptly, minimising downtime.
- Work with high and low-voltage equipment, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Ensure all electrical work adheres to local and national electrical codes (such as BS 7671 in the UK).
- Follow safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor electrical systems through automated systems or manually and make adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers, plant operators, and other personnel to ensure the seamless operation of the plant.
- Provide electrical expertise in multidisciplinary projects.
Electrician requirements:
- Qualified as a certified electrician (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3).
- Prior experience working with industrial electrical systems, ideally in a water treatment or industrial setting.
- Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and automated controls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair electrical issues quickly.
- Ability to work with precision, particularly with high-voltage systems and critical equipment.
- Able to work in challenging environments, such as confined spaces or high structures.
