Position Overview
My client are seeking a technical accountant with a comprehensive understanding of auditing, statutory reporting (including consolidations), and tax, to join the team. This role focuses on year-end duties and requires a detail-oriented professional adept at producing accurate financial accounts while ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller and Group Accountants to deliver precise and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate financial accounts in accordance with IFRS and FRS 101 standards.
- Ensure external financial reporting complies with current regulatory and professional standards.
- Act as the key contact for coordinating audit deliverables.
- Ensure the timely and efficient submission of audit requirements to external auditors.
- Address and resolve audit-related queries.
- Manage consolidations and ensure all statutory accounts are prepared accurately.
- Assess and implement the accounting implications of key contracts.
- Monitor changes to accounting standards and evaluate their impact on financial reporting.
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of pension scheme accounts.
Skills & Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Up-to-date knowledge of auditing, statutory reporting (including consolidations), and tax.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and FRS 101 standards.
- Familiarity with the accounting implications of contracts and changes in standards.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with financial reporting tools is a plus.
- Attention to detail and high accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
