Job description:

As our next Bioanalytical Chemist, you will be responsible for undertaking routine HPLC, GCMS, and LC-MS/MS based analyses within the Bioanalytical mycotoxin section. Your role is to prioritise and organise the completion of work to assist the team in meeting customers' deadlines. Your remit is to undertake training to broaden knowledge of food analysis and analytical techniques.

You will be responsible for using LIMS for data entry and finding sample related information. Your day to day activities will include ensuring that all work complies with health and safety regulations, including COSHH. You will also be required to maintain laboratories in a safe, tidy, and clean manner, including basic HPLC maintenance. Your remit will be to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the UKAS accredited quality system and to carry out work necessary to help maintain UKAS accreditation.

Within this role, there is an opportunity to assist in providing a mycotoxin testing service to Premier Foods Group and external clients.

The Key Requirements...

Essential:

  • BSc Chemistry or Food Science/Technology
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of chromatography technique

Preferred:

  • MChem/MSc Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry
  • Experience of laboratory analytical work in a business environment using HPLC
  • Experience of working in the food industry
  • General interest in Food Chemistry and Food Technology (training can be given)
