Job Title: Contracts Manager / Designer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Installation Contracts Manager / Designer to oversee and manage various installation projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in air conditioning systems (particularly VRV & splits) and should be able to handle everything from surveying, designing, and pricing to managing the installation process, organizing O&M manuals, demonstrations, and negotiating final accounts or variations.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  1. Strong background in Air Conditioning (VRV & splits).
  2. Ventilation design knowledge (ductwork, fans, grilles, etc.).
  3. Basic understanding of Controls (advanced knowledge is beneficial but not essential).
  4. Experience with Chilled and Low Pressure Hot Water (LPHW) systems (including FCUs, AHU coils, controls, pumps, valves, insulation, etc.).
  5. Familiarity with Electrical works (controls wiring, selecting tray, trunking, cables, etc.).
  6. Commissioning experience (AC systems, AHUs, FCUs, water and airside flow rates, and balancing).
  7. Basic understanding of AutoCAD (a dedicated CAD draftsman is available, but some experience is beneficial).
  8. Experience in Pricing and Quotation writing, as well as creating O&Mmanuals.

Industry Experience:
We predominantly work within the Retail sector, so experience in this field is preferred, but we also take on projects in commercial, office, healthcare, and other sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handling customer sales enquiries and performing site surveys.
  • Designing and preparing detailed project proposals and quotations.
  • Managing new contracts, including coordinating engineers and subcontractors.
  • Attending site meetings with clients or main contractors.
  • Procuring equipment and materials as needed for projects.
  • Overseeing project programming, planning, and cost management.
  • Participating in weekly team meetings.
  • Preparing handover documentation.
  • Tavel to site when necessary

Support & Team Environment:
You will be supported by a team of technical designers, secretarial staff, and a friendly, collaborative working environment. Directors and managers will provide advice and assistance when needed.

Remuneration:

  • Salary: £40,000 to £65,000 per annum.
  • Car Allowance: £6,000 per year + mileage expenses, or opt for a company car.
  • Mileage Expenses: Claimed at the maximum tax-free allowance of 45p per mile (up to 10,000 miles per year).
