We are seeking a Legal Counsel to be based at our High Wycombe site on a hybrid basis. The primary purpose of the Legal Counsel is to provide legal advisory to our Materials Analysis business.

The role:

As a Legal Counsel for Materials Analysis, your role will be varied, and will also allow for ample opportunity to lead change and work on transformative projects, working closely with our Sales Team and with Group legal, your role encompasses the following:

  • You will be a trusted advisor and business partner to the management team of OI Materials Analysis, handling the day-to-day legal affairs of the business.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts. This includes assisting the Sales team with negotiations with customers on sales contracts, reviewing public procurement tender documents, conducting risk assessments on contracts, and ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained. Additionally, you'll handle non-sales contracts such as agency and distributor agreements and collaboration and licence agreements and play a role in supporting OI Materials Analysis in new initiatives.
  • Enhancing contract management procedures and supporting the Group Legal team with various legal matters; as part of this, youll assist in developing and maintaining template documents to streamline processes.
  • Ensuring the business complies with applicable laws, processes and procedures and offering guidance to the OI Materials Analysis team on a range of contractual, regulatory and compliance matters, including dispute resolution.

The person we are looking for will be ideally:

  • 2-5 years PQE Qualified
  • Be in a similar role, within an in-house legal role; we are also open to hearing from those that are looking for a step-up in their career
  • Have knowledge within international law and jurisdictions
  • Be a strong communicator; you will be dealing with numerous stakeholders and the ability to establish relationships is integral to success within the role.
