Location: High Wycombe (Office Based)

Reports To: Finance Controller

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the credit control process about 1500 clients.  This role involves ensuring timely payments, managing overdue accounts, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credit Management: Assess creditworthiness of potential clients, set credit limits, and manage credit terms.
  • Debt Collection: Proactively chase outstanding invoices via phone, email, and letters to ensure timely payments.
  • Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts, collections, and credit status for management review.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain positive relationships with clients while effectively managing overdue accounts.
  • Compliance: Ensure all credit control activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit control, preferably within an SME environment.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a solid customer service approach with clients
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Customer-focused with a professional demeanor.
