Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team managing accounting, reporting, and reconciliation of business costs.
- Promote cost control and improve visibility and analysis of key costs.
- Oversee month-end processes, prepare and analyze profit and loss statements, and provide variance analysis.
- Deliver monthly flash forecasts, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts, and review budget holders.
- Ensure compliance with group policies and maintain strong balance sheet controls.
- Manage IFRS16 compliance and act as the main contact for lease accounting.
- Handle internal and external audit requirements.
- Support ad hoc corporate or departmental projects.
Business Partnering:
- Conduct monthly meetings with department heads to discuss results, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with Area Managers and support Store Managers in understanding financials and KPIs.
Business Improvements:
- Drive efficiency and data-driven decision-making in the department.
- Lead project delivery within deadlines, collaborating with relevant teams.
Team Management and Development:
- Support, train, and coach the team of 3 Retail & Central Analysts.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and appraisals, set objectives, and establish development plans.
- Lead by example to maintain high engagement and service standards.
