Local Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Burials and Allotments Administrator to manage the operations of a Cemetery and its allotment sites. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, personable, and capable of handling sensitive situations with professionalism.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of cemetery operations including processing interment requests, applications, and fees, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating groundworks and memorials.
- Oversee allotment operations by managing tenancies, conducting inspections, addressing enquiries and complaints, and supporting allotment associations.
- Provide exceptional front-line customer service, handling public enquiries in person, via email, over the phone, and through written correspondence.
- Promote and develop the council's cemetery and allotment services by identifying and implementing improvements to practices, policies, and procedures.
- Attend interments and ensure all procedures are followed accurately.
- Maintain high-quality data management and compliance with GDPR and other statutory regulations.
- A-Levels or equivalent experience in administration.
- Excellent IT skills, proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Outstanding communication and organizational abilities.
- Experience in a burial authority and/or managing allotments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of statutory regulations relating to cemeteries.
- Ability to act with sensitivity when dealing with bereaved families.
