About the Role:As a Science Technician, you will provide essential support to the science department, ensuring that lessons run smoothly and students have access to a safe and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities will include preparing materials and equipment for experiments, maintaining laboratory resources, and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare, set up, and clear away laboratory equipment and materials for lessons and experiments.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and practical science lessons.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and in good working order.
- Monitor and replenish stock of chemicals and other consumables.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Support students and staff with practical work as needed.
- A passion for science and a keen eye for detail.
- Prior experience in a laboratory or school setting (preferred but not essential).
- A good understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in a laboratory environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
- Relevant qualifications in science or laboratory work (e.g., GCSEs, A-levels, or equivalent in science subjects).
