Our client is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Commercial Solicitor to join their Legal Department. The role involves providing comprehensive legal advice and support to their retail businesses.

Description

路 To generate, maintain and implement standardized Company contract precedents and documentation.

路 To ensure that company interactions with third parties are lawful and compliant with relevant legislation in the UK and overseas.

路 Develop and maintain a company database of contractual obligations and ensure timely review and compliance with those obligations.

路 Produce bespoke contracts as required to support the international franchising function

路 Monitor and facilitate the planning of the registration, renewal and protection of appropriate Intellectual Property assets of the Group companies.

路 Conduct training within the business to educate operators as to the risks and responsibilities associated with international sourcing, toy retail and franchising activity.

路 Participate in the preparation of legally compliant marketing campaigns, promotions, prize draws in print, TV, web-based and social media environments complying with ASA standards generally and particularly for marketing to children.

路 Support the Head of Legal in improving the management of legal risk within the Group's businesses.

路 Foster and develop a good working relationship with the Trading Standard Home Authority and support the Quality Assurance team in responding to product quality issues.

路 Support the customer services function's communications with consumers.

路 Provide support to the contract review project initiated in relation to cost control benchmarking and sourcing of non-products suppliers.

Profile

  • UK qualified Lawyer
  • At least three years' experience in commercial contract negotiation in a retail environment.
  • A good knowledge of UK and overseas Franchising agreements.
  • Experience of Intellectual Property law.
  • An ability to manage external legal resource and third-party suppliers of services in a cost effective manner.
