Logistics Manager
Location: High Wycombe
Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 8 am - 4 pm (with flexibility)
Our client, a well-established company based in High Wycombe, is seeking a proactive and hands-on Logistics Manager to oversee and manage their logistics function. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, driving operational improvements and supporting the company's growth.
The Role
As a Logistics Manager, you will be instrumental in developing warehouse operations, implementing process improvements, and providing innovative ideas to enhance efficiency. While you won't have direct reports, you will have access to a large team supporting the operations.
As Logistics Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop warehouse operations and lead process improvements, ensuring the smooth running of all activities. Your main responsibilities will include managing inbound and outbound deliveries, overseeing day-to-day operations, and liaising with suppliers and service partners. Additionally, you will be responsible for facilitating company purchases and supporting with the management of the factory facilities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Warehouse Management: Ensuring the correct and organised storage of all company and client stock, conducting periodic stock checks to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Logistics Coordination: Overseeing busy inbound and outbound deliveries, including the efficient utilisation of company vehicles for deliveries and collections.
- Purchasing & Supplier Negotiation: Managing company purchasing, negotiating the best prices with suppliers, raising purchase orders, and matching supplier invoices to Goods Received Notes and Purchase Orders.
- Facility Management: Supervising general warehouse maintenance, arranging subcontractors for necessary works, and managing multiple projects across various sectors.
- Collaboration: Working closely with Production Managers, Account Managers, and suppliers to ensure seamless operations.
- Adaptability & Innovation: Supporting the transition to an automated stock control system in the future.
