Michael Page Logistics are recruiting for a Transport Manager for a client in Hemel Hempstead.

Client Details

Our client are a well known retailer and you will play a critical part in the in the supply chain ensuring a best in class service to stores.

Description

The role of Transport manager will report to the General Manager, for the site. You will own and be responsible for the performance of your drivers and driver's mates, and for the internal and external service, safety and cost KPI's of the Transport department. You will ensure the effective day to day running of the Department, providing your team with clear leadership, communication, guidance and support to ensure the right process and procedures are followed and that legal compliance is adhered to and performance metrics are achieved.

Profile

Candidates wishing to be considered must meet the following criteria:

  • CPC in Transport Management is a requirement of the role
  • Previous experience managing teams within a transport operation
  • Good knowledge of the UK road network
  • Excellent planning skills and ability to offer creative solutions
  • Knowledge of Telematics and associated reporting
  • The ability to work under pressure to and to meet deadlines
  • A deep understanding of the challenges that drivers on a daily basis, either through direct experience or close management of drivers
