Job Description
As part of a customer-facing team supporting sonar systems and other defence equipment In-Service, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering In-Service support, working closely with Project Managers, Project Engineering Leads, System Design Authorities, and customers.
- Responding proactively to technical issues, fault reports, and queries.
- Collaborating with the engineering team to develop technically and commercially acceptable solutions.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults remotely or on customer sites when necessary.
- Monitoring system performance, supporting root cause analysis, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Supporting inspection and preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensuring customer equipment remains safe and suitable for continued use.
- Working with field support teams on defect investigations, surveys, integration, and testing.
- Maintaining Integrated Logistics Support documentation and implementing change requests as required.
- Highlighting resource conflicts or constraints to project management.
- Following engineering best practices to enhance performance and promote continuous improvement.
- Supporting obsolescence strategies for product lines.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
We're looking for a dynamic, professional engineer with experience in high-tech or regulated industries. You will have:
- A higher diploma or bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field (newly qualified candidates will be considered).
- Experience in engineering across any phase of the lifecycle.
- Experience executing support tasks on engineering projects.
- Experience in technical diagnostics of systems and equipment.
- Examples of working under tight deadlines in challenging contexts.
- A background in maritime equipment would be beneficial.
