Job Description

As part of a customer-facing team supporting sonar systems and other defence equipment In-Service, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering In-Service support, working closely with Project Managers, Project Engineering Leads, System Design Authorities, and customers.
  • Responding proactively to technical issues, fault reports, and queries.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to develop technically and commercially acceptable solutions.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults remotely or on customer sites when necessary.
  • Monitoring system performance, supporting root cause analysis, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting inspection and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensuring customer equipment remains safe and suitable for continued use.
  • Working with field support teams on defect investigations, surveys, integration, and testing.
  • Maintaining Integrated Logistics Support documentation and implementing change requests as required.
  • Highlighting resource conflicts or constraints to project management.
  • Following engineering best practices to enhance performance and promote continuous improvement.
  • Supporting obsolescence strategies for product lines.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

We're looking for a dynamic, professional engineer with experience in high-tech or regulated industries. You will have:

  • A higher diploma or bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field (newly qualified candidates will be considered).
  • Experience in engineering across any phase of the lifecycle.
  • Experience executing support tasks on engineering projects.
  • Experience in technical diagnostics of systems and equipment.
  • Examples of working under tight deadlines in challenging contexts.
  • A background in maritime equipment would be beneficial.
