Do you have experience in quality control? Our client, a global manufacturer and supplier of flavourings, extracts, and essences, is seeking a talented Quality Control Supervisor to join their team !

Key Objectives of the Role:

As the Quality Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the testing and release of raw materials and finished products, along with leading a small team of QC technicians. Your duties will involve communicating effectively with other departments, planning your work efficiently, running taste panels, managing reject stock, and ensuring good laboratory practises are followed at all times.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of QC Technicians.
  • Attending daily update meetings and acting on issues and concerns.
  • Planning and prioritising work efficiently.
  • Running taste panels and recording results.
  • Managing reject stock and raising non-conformances for quality rejections.
  • Collaborating with the Analytical team for testing requirements.
  • Ensuring customer requirements for Certificates of Analysis are met.
  • Suggesting improvements to laboratory practises and processes.
  • Acquiring sufficient knowledge of materials, products, and test procedures.
  • Ensuring timely external testing and releasing of products.
  • Managing the process of releasing stock under micro concession.
  • Supporting the investigation of complaints and resolving quality issues.
  • Ordering consumables for the lab and maintaining equipment.
  • Taking on management responsibilities for specific areas of the factory.
  • Completing scheduled and ad hoc internal audits and checks.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Food Science Graduate or equivalent with knowledge of QC function.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene management.
  • Good communication and organisation skills.
  • Supervisory experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of HACCP and quality management systems (desirable).
  • Experience in working in a lab environment (desirable).
