One of the UK's most progressive and successful workplace and laboratory design and fit-out specialists are actively on the market seeking a Project Director with experience working in Laboratories, Life Science and Innovation Fit Out and refurbishment projects.

They are know for their longstanding relationships with end-user clients as well as commercial real estate firms that have been developed by providing a seamless client experience. Their client-centric approach has resulted in unprecedented levels of repeat business.

They have a turnover of circa 100m and have multiple offices across the South East.

Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to oversee and manage multiple fit-out projects within the laboratory and life science sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, construction, and an understanding of the specific requirements and regulations associated with laboratory environments. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of fit-out projects from inception to completion.

- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices specific to laboratory and life sciences.

- Oversee procurement processes, including selecting subcontractors and suppliers, and managing contracts.

- Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders and addressing any issues that arise.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment, providing guidance and mentorship to project managers and staff.

- Implement quality control measures to ensure that all work meets the company's standards and client expectations.

- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, with a focus on laboratory and life sciences projects.

- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex fit-out projects on time and within budget.

- Strong knowledge of laboratory design, construction methods, and regulatory requirements.
