The role
Gordon Leak Associates are working with an award-winning Housing company and due to growth is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. My client will offer a competitive salary, career progression and a fantastic work life balance.

Duties

  • Oversee and manage the centralised material purchasing
  • Negotiation and finalisation of schedules
  • Circulation to the wider teams
  • Setting up, updating and management of procurement schedules for each project
  • Prepare detailed scope of works/measured pricing schedules/marked up drawings per package of works and issue tenders to sub-contractors
  • Analysis and negotiation
  • Raising sub-contract/supplier orders with the correct contractual paperwork
  • Tracking and identifying changes to original scopes
  • Co-ordinating, negotiating and agreeing cost implications with the relevant parties, in accordance with the contract terms
  • Assisting the Accounts team by reviewing and responding to queries with sub-contractor payment applications
  • Undertaking sub-contractor procurement tasks
  • Co-ordinating queries and ensuring all works captured within the tender documents are added to the pricing schedule
  • Preparation of measured pricing schedules and estimate for work

Extra bits

  • Quantity Surveying experience of 5+ years
  • RICS chartered, or in the process of becoming RICS chartered
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent certification
  • Residential experience from either the main contracting or development side
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, current building regulations and industry standards
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Attention to detail and in-depth analysing are both skills that would be beneficial to this role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
