We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Geography to lead our department. This role is perfect for someone dedicated to fostering a love for Geography and has a proven track record of excellence in teaching and leadership.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide leadership for the development and management of the Geography department.
  • Identify areas for development and improvement linked to the Academy improvement plan, SEF, national, and local initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor schemes of work for Geography across the academy, ensuring successful implementation that meets curriculum requirements and is differentiated to reflect student needs.
  • Oversee and contribute to the planning and delivery of continuous professional development and training related to Geography.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success in Geography.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in delivering outstanding teaching and learning in Geography.
  • Successful mentoring and coaching of colleagues.
  • Strong ability to plan, prepare, and deliver a curriculum relevant to the age and ability of the groups.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
