About The Role:
Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker on a full-time basis working 40 hours per week for their children's home based in High Wycombe. You would need to be on a shift pattern.
The ideal senior support worker will guide the team to create an environment where young people can thrive. You’ll make sure your team and young people feel happy, safe and motivated, and that the home operates to a high standard, as well as stepping up to deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers when required. The role offers real variety, allowing you to really get stuck in and make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
The role of a senior support worker will involve:
• Contributing to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation
• Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
• Ensuring the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhering to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate
• Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift and Managers.
• Maintaining and promoting residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by Esland and Ofsted
• Contributing to the educational and social development of each young person and assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Programs
• Meeting the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximising opportunities for their development
• Providing support to the deputy/manager of the home whilst on shift and performing senior duties as directed
• To ensure that the health needs of young people are assessed and provided for, developing, and maintaining effective working partnerships with health professionals.
• Ensure that participation in a range of therapeutic, social, and recreational activities/opportunities for individual or groups of young people is encouraged.
• To ensure that all children have a full and appropriate education timetable. To be able to form positive relationships within education institutions, leading promoting and advocating for the educational needs and rights of the child.
The Ideal candidate will be:
- NVQ Qualified (Minimum Level 3 Desired but not Essential) in a social care related subject.
- Children's Residential Care experience (1 Year)
- Understanding of OFSTED Regulations and compliance Requirements
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of social emotional and behavioural difficulties and how these may impact the lives of the young people that we support.
