We are working on behalf of a vibrant and diverse two-form entry primary school based in High Wycombe, seeking a dedicated EYFS Learning Support Assistant to join the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. The school is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment, with a strong focus on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children in EYFS, particularly those with high SEN needs, including speech and language difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other developmental delays.
  • Work closely with the EYFS teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning activities to meet the needs of each child.
  • Assist in the delivery of a stimulating and creative EYFS curriculum, supporting children's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Help with day-to-day classroom tasks, including setting up activities, supervising outdoor play, and assisting with personal care needs if required.
  • Monitor and report on children's progress to the class teacher and SENCO, ensuring that targets are being met.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.


What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role, ideally in an EYFS setting.
  • A good understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • Experience working with children with high SEN needs is essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
