Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in High Wycombe and support our pupils in reaching their full potential.

About the School:

Our school is a Primary age special school that caters to children experiencing Communication and Interaction difficulties, typically within the moderate learning difficulty/mild learning disability range. The majority of our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) alongside additional needs such as:

Global Developmental Delay

Anxiety

Sensory Processing Difficulties

ADHD

Dyspraxia

Severe Speech, Language, and Communication Difficulties

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and complex needs.

Assist in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Implement strategies to support communication, sensory regulation, and emotional well-being.

Work closely with teachers and therapists to meet each child's unique needs.

Foster independence and confidence in our learners.

Who We Are Looking For:

We welcome applicants with personal or professional experience supporting children with autism and complex needs. The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience in an SEN, care, or education setting (or lived experience supporting children with additional needs).

A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.

A good understanding of autism, sensory needs, and communication difficulties.

The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
