A new exciting permanent opportunity has become available for a leading educational client seeking a Head of Digital Transformation to lead the management and coordination of the Digital and Technical Services, Directorate's portfolio of change programmes and projects. This role is pivotal in supporting the University’s strategic objectives and fostering an inclusive university community.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist the Director of Digital and Technical Services in strategic planning of change programmes and projects to achieve the University’s strategic priorities.
  • Design, implement, and maintain an annual planning cycle and a project portfolio management framework.
  • Oversee the project portfolio, managing project identification, prioritisation, approval, and initiation.
  • Accountable for the Directorate’s change function, ensuring all changes are appropriately appraised and approved.
  • Manage the delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality criteria.
  • Develop policies and processes for managing change and project delivery.
  • Provide specialist advice on digital project management, governance, and benefits realisation.
  • Coordinate multi-skilled virtual teams and manage technical resources to deliver projects effectively.
  • Play a key role in the Directorate’s incident management process and deputise for the Director in major incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
  • Fulfil line management responsibilities, including recruitment, performance management, and staff development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree level education or relevant professional qualifications.
  • ITIL Foundation and higher.
  • Proven experience in managing projects through the full project life cycle in complex environments.
  • Knowledge of programme and project portfolio management.
  • Experience in systems and business analysis, and full system development lifecycle.
  • Experience in a Higher Education establishment is desirable.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed analytical skills and excellent report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools.
