Workshop Operative - Temporary to Permanent - Highbridge, Somerset

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Workshop Operative for their Manufacturing Client in Highbridge, Somerset.

The hours of work are 40 hours a week. Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm with an hour's unpaid lunch.

The starting rate of pay is £12.50 an hour, which equates to £26,000 per annum.

The role will involve working in a small team environment within the workshop. It is essential to have some manufacturing, production, workshop experience in using hand and power tools.

Key Responsibilities

Reading from plans to accurately measure where the metal and plastic sheet material needs to be cut and the position of where holes need to be drilled.

Attention to detail when using hand and power tools such as pillar drills and bandsaws to accurately machine parts to the specified cut, shape and drill holes accurately.

You will be trained set up, program, and operate various CNC machines, which include a Router, Lathe, cutting and drilling machines. Monitoring their performance during operation to make sure they are running correctly making any necessary adjustments. Identifying and resolving any issues with the machine operation or programming.

Inspecting the finished materials to ensure they meet quality standards before being sent to the manufacturing department.
